York Maze is a firm annual fixture in our family calendar. Aside from just one year (dam you Covid!), we haven’t missed a season since we began our trips many years ago, and we don’t plan to. It’s the kind of day out that blends clever ideas with big-hearted fun, and every visit leaves us smiling and excited to return.
A playground of puns and proper fun
What makes York Maze stand out is how much there is to do, and how wittily it’s themed. With 20+ attractions, we never find ourselves at a loose end. Every single one also bears a wel though out corn-pun name.
Our standout picks:
- VolCORNo – a fiery favourite that tests the legs in the best way.
- COBstacle Course – non-stop energy, races, and laughs (although watch out Kernal Kernal cheats!)
- House of CORNfusion – a smart, family-friendly nod to Halloween’s scare houses without the screams and an extra spinkle of child friendly magic.
- Cobsleighs – the self-build bobsleigh ride that’s pure, repeatable joy.
We especially love the indoor mazes. House of CORNfusion offers a playful, twisty taste of the park’s Halloween spirit, but in a way younger visitors can enjoy too.

Shows that pack the day
Between attractions, the shows keep the day moving and the energy high:
- The Corniest Show on Earth delivers quick-fire laughs and crowd moments.
- Crowmania isn’t just a tractor ride—it’s an immersive show with character and story.
- Cornula 1 brings tech, pace, and spectacle to the lineup.
A huge shoutout to Josh Benson, York Maze’s in-house Corntroller of Entertainment. Josh leads a talented team, builds sets, choreographs, and then jumps on stage to perform…multiple times a day. His passion shows, and the whole entertainment crew match that energy. They’re a massive part of why the event works so well.

Clean, cared for, constantly improving
Every time we visit, we notice reinvestment and upgrades. The site is clean, tidy, and clearly looked after. That attention to detail makes the day smoother and, frankly, keeps us coming back. It’s obvious that York Maze cares about the guest experience—and that’s a big reason we’ve never had a bad visit.
York Maze The verdict
The summer event has wrapped for this year, but York Maze will be back next season—no doubt even better. You can be assured we’ll be there on day one, yet again. You can find out all information for 2026 when it’s released here.
